Steve Perkins, Managing Director

Steve founded Claritas on a simple, clear premise: exceptional service at a fair price, delivered by a team that enjoys working together.

Steve believes in collaboration, shared responsibility, and supporting people to grow. His team can look beyond the numbers to help your business run smoother and more efficiently. Steve’s personal mission is rooted in a single phrase, pay it forward. Early in his career, Steve was given a few key opportunities that changed the course of his life. Today, he’s committed to closing that loop. Whether it’s mentoring staff who haven’t had a traditional path into finance or his tireless support for local charities, Steve’s ethos is about opening doors for others.

Steve is proud of the values of Claritas, friendly, approachable, professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. Steve owns a loyal labrador Tilly and he loves travelling, particularly cruises where there is a new experience to be enjoyed every day.

Kelly Wilcox, Director

Kelly didn’t set out to work in finance. She planned to be a nurse, until a stint on a hospital ward made her realise it wasn’t her path. A transformative work placement at the age of sixteen led to her true path, finance. Through sheer determination, she completed her AAT and CIMA qualifications in her spare time, eventually climbing the corporate ladder at firms such as Virgin Atlantic, Paraxel, IBM and Heinz where she held senior roles including Finance Director and Finance Manager.

Following the arrival of her first child, Kelly left corporate life, refreshed her qualifications in tax while pregnant with her second, and built her own practice. After completing an MSc in Forensic Accounting, Kelly joined forces with Claritas in 2020 and became Director in 2023.

Kelly’s mission is to strip away the jargon and provide clear, actionable advice. She specialises in strategic growth; identifying cost-saving opportunities and scaling businesses; digital transformation; implementing and providing expert training for Xero software and business development; helping clients navigate their financial journeys with confidence. Outside of work, Kelly loves spending downtime with her two boys. She is an avid crafter, devoted Harry Potter fan and weightlifter boasting a personal best of 30kg.

David Ryall, Director

David drives the operational side of Claritas, balancing workloads across the accounting and bookkeeping teams to ensure every client gets the right expertise at the right time, he cares deeply about the clients.

David’s career actually began in IT, but finance is in his blood. He started managing the books for his father’s business while studying at college, following in the footsteps of his mother, a career bookkeeper. David enjoys analysing complex financial situations and finding solutions. After qualifying with his AAT, Steve Perkins gave him an opportunity despite his lack of experience, and he has been a cornerstone of Claritas ever since.

David always goes the extra mile for clients, and he is dedicated to mentoring staff, ensuring the whole team stays at the top of their game. David is a big movie fan, and loves the Marvel franchise, particularly The Avengers series.
